If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I absolutely adore horses, and especially my own grey beauty Brontë! I have been wanting to do a proper shoot with her for ages and we finally had time to make this happen. Brontë is a rescued Percheron Thoroughbred mare who came into my life just a little over three years ago and it was a dream come true for me to find my forever horse. I have seriously pined for a horse from birth. Yes literally!
Our talent for this shoot was the very lovely and talented equestrian director of Shooting Star Farms, Cheryl Bell. Cheryl is truly an amazing rider and pretty much can do almost anything on a horse. She has been my instructor and trainer for a couple years now and has helped us so much. We were thrilled when she agreed to do this shoot!
We worked with Brontë ahead of time to make sure she would be ok with a flying flag and Brontë was so good for the whole shoot. She wasn’t fazed by all the new things we threw at her and I am just so proud of her. Maybe she has a modeling career ahead of her??
I wanted to do a very romantic and dream shoot . . . I know . . . surprise surprise! People always remark that Brontë looks like a fairytale horse so I think she was perfect for this project, don’t you?.
For the wardrobe, I was very inspired by this gorgeous mustard colored top from Anthropologie and then I did some online research to find the skirt to match and added some additional fabric to add to more flow behind Cheryl as she rode. I just love that she is riding bareback with bare feet . . .
A huge thank you to my whole team for helping me to make this happen! I am so grateful for all of you!
